Title: Executive Director
Reporting Structure: Position operationally reports to the OSPRA Board of Directors
The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the OSPRA and is directly responsible to the Oglala Sioux Parks and Recreation Authority Board of Directors. The Executive Director is charged with the overall responsibility of the operation and administration of the OSPRA within the policies and directives of the Board. The Board holds the Executive Director responsible for carrying out its policies within established guidelines and for informing the Board about the organization.
The OSPRA Board believes legislation and adoption of policies is the function of the Board, and the execution of policies is the function of the Executive Director.
Must have a four (4) years degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
At least ten (10) years experience in conservation-related program implementation.
Proven experience managing complex projects with multiple partners, convening and/or managing stakeholder groups.
Proven record of fundraising and/or experience working with donors.
Must have experience operating a reservation program of this size.
Knowledge of fiscal management.
Strong knowledge of conservation practices.
Experience working with National Park Service, parks and recreation entities, and/or other related tribal entities.
